Facing It

Writer's picture: Gayle RogersGayle Rogers

I surprised myself when I tried to work out how long I had been running drawing workshops as a freelancer.

It's been 28 years...gulp!

I love drawing, looking at drawings and dreaming about drawing.

I still get a thrill from seeing what people create in the workshops and how they grow in confidence, become unafraid to experiment and develop their own style. I like to hear the chatter among the drawers as they work alongside each other and plan their next creation.

I've run drawing classes for toddlers and those in their 90s and I can honestly say everyone CAN draw. I've heard so many people say that they can't. Or people say that they were told that they couldn't at school so they never tried as an adult.

If you can draw a smiley face you can draw.
